You are a concussion survivor who...

Scherm_afbeelding 2023-12-01 om 13.51.58.png

Is not interested in 85 general treatments that address common complaints and typically provide only temporary relief.

Feel stuck and don't want to meet 20 doctors again who often provide incorrect advice, misdiagnose you or simply advise focusing on acceptance.

✅ Is tired of the cycle of trying various treatments and working with individuals who promise quick fixes or 'magic pills,' which initially inspire hope but ultimately drain energy, money, or lead to setbacks.

✅ Is not yet at the point where you want or hoped to be, which is frustrating because you know you can achieve much more than your current status. You seek proven methods tailored to concussions with long-lasting results.

Many concussion survivors know much more is possible but continue to struggle for years without having any idea what they are doing.

There is a lot of different advice...

Scherm_afbeelding 2023-12-01 om 13.52.31.png

Your doctor: Please go home and rest as much as possible, as within a few weeks, you will be better.

Scherm_afbeelding 2023-12-01 om 13.52.31.png
Scherm_afbeelding 2023-12-01 om 13.52.31.png

Your family/friends:"I knew someone with a concussion, and because of "this," he was healed within 4 weeks."

Your psychologist: "It's important not to make your concussion the main thing in life, focus on positive things."

Scherm_afbeelding 2023-12-01 om 20.38.47.png
Scherm_afbeelding 2023-12-01 om 20.38.47.png
Scherm_afbeelding 2023-12-01 om 20.38.47.png

Your colleagues:"I wish I had a day off, too. Enjoy the sun and do some yoga; that will help to feel better"

Your physiotherapist: "This was our last session. I think it's important to focus on acceptance from now on."

The insurance company: "You can't prove it? Then it's not there. We are all getting older, try not to make that a big deal."

I can imagine that at some point, you struggle with what you should actually do.

And that's often where things go wrong: incorrect advice is followed, lacking grounded guidance from real concussion experts. This can result in not achieving the desired outcome or, even worse, making you feel worse.

That's why in the Concussion Boost Program, we focus on 2 researched methods so you know exactly what you should do to reduce symtpoms.

For concussion survivors who can’t exercise and/or have already tried multiple ways to reduce symptoms but haven't felt the benefits.

So far, 525+ people have started, and 70% of them reported positive changes in symptoms within the first week or month.

People who don't feel it immediately often experience a clear improvement after this time because recovery sometimes just needs a bit more time.

Amy no longer enjoyed her life, she was just surviving...

I understand that sometimes you might think, 'Well, Amy can move forward, but I'll never be able to. My symptoms are more severe and different."

At least that's what Amy (and I too) often thought.

That's why I want to share Amy's story with you.

Amy struggled with the most 'normal' things and tasks:

Having conversations, going to the supermarket, making phone calls, driving, controlling her emotions, returning to work, performing more than one task per day, and on top of that, she suffered from daily headaches, fatigue, and migraines.

In short, Amy no longer enjoyed her life; she was just surviving.

After trying almost all the treatments she could think of, she felt discouraged.

Doctors told her she had to accept her situation and learn to cope with it.

Scherm_afbeelding 2024-04-16 om 13.29.08.png

She realized that as long as we don't know everything about our brain, it's also not a fact that I can't progress anymore. The chance that I can progress is just as great. She chose to believe the latter.

So she decided to start the Concussion Boost Program.

She went from being someone who was always at home, to someone who enjoys her social life again.

She no longer has daily headaches, her migraines have decreased and she has just started driving again. She now wakes up every day with a clear head instead of brainfog.

Now you might be wondering what Amy did to make such progress?

Amy started applying specific interval training and cognitive training. Which you will learn in my Concussion Boost Program.

The 2 researched methods we focus on

Both methods are reserached by Dr. Mark Allen, Neuroscientist and Co-Founder of Cognitive FX, who developed the scientific foundation that makes this approach unique.

Method 1: Interval training + breathing exercises

Watch the 5-minute video to learn why this specific interval training is so effective for people with a concussion.

Prefer to read? Scroll down!

But what is interval training?

Interval training consists of short bursts of intense exercise alternated with, in our case, a special breathing exercise.

In this course, we focus on interval training combined with specialized breathing exercises, proven to effectively alleviate concussion symptoms. Credit to Dr. Mark Allen, Neuroscientist and Co-Founder of Cognitive FX, for developing this unique approach.

2 reasons why this interval training is more effective for a concussion than a normal workout:

1.

Every time you do interval training, you get a boost of neurotransmitters, proteins, and oxygen in the brain. All those are helpful, but the most helpful neurochemical for people with a concussion is Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF). Interval training is by far the fastest and most efficient way to maximize a BDNF boost.

2.

It helps to regulate the autonomic nervous system. The fight-flight system and the "rest and digest" system are out of balance. The fight-flight response is often stuck in a state of overreacting. These intervals and the breathing exercise will help the rest system to become more active.

The goal is that your body will pick this up automatically, which is why consistency is important.

See below a scan of the brain before and after doing the intervals.

Schermafbeelding 2023-12-01 om 15.20.18.png

Method 2: Fifteen cognitive exercises

Watch the 3-minute video to learn why these cognitive exercises are so effective for people with a concussion.

Prefer to read? Scroll down!

Why are these cognitive exercises effective for concussions?

During the first few days of recovery, that inflammation can prevent your brain from using certain communication pathways the way it normally would.

For most people, those pathways resume working as normal after a week or two. But for people with post-concussion symptoms, the brain gets so used to moving around areas affected by the head injury that it keeps doing so even after recovery.

That means your brain is sending blood flow and information around the damaged areas. That drains energy and takes longer, resulting in persistent symptoms.

Restoring these damaged pathways is possible, but your brain needs the right push to recover; that's where the 15 cognitive exercises come in.

We want to go from this left half with weaknesses or detours to a well-functioning brain, the right half. So, we create new pathways and strengthen them. When this happens, numerous symptoms can decrease.

It's important to focus on exercises that target all areas of your brain, focusing on the pathways that are damaged after a concussion.

About me

Compressed.jpg

Hi! I am Silvie, 32 years old and in May 2017, I had a scooter accident, which caused me whiplash and concussion. That day, I went home after the accident, not knowing I’d just walked into a new life.

"I was constantly torn between "I can't let this concussion ruin my life" and "I have to listen to my body and rest".

I struggled for years to find the right help and understand what was going on with me. The regular doctors I visited couldn't address my symptoms.

In all those years I was Googling to find experts who could help me. I was missing the correct knowledge to move forward.

After years of struggle, I am back to feeling my old self again...

How?

In June 2019, I spent $10k on a treatment; I went to Cognitive FX

A concussion center in Utah is where I learned everything about specific interval training and cognitive exercises specialized for people with a concussion.

This helped me overcome my concussion symptoms. That's why I want to make this knowledge more accessible for everyone so they can reduce their symptoms too.

Scherm_afbeelding 2023-11-02 om 12.50.10.png

I've poured my heart and soul into developing this 2 Concussion Boost Program.

In the program, I teach others implement these specific interval and cognitive training techniques in the most beneficial way to ensure they get the best results in reducing their symptoms.

Because simply engaging in 'some' cardio exercises or doing ‘some’ puzzles won't bring about a massive change.

More is needed if you truly want to overcome your symptoms.

PS: I want to credit Dr. Mark Allen, Neuroscientist and Co-Founder of Cognitive FX, who developed the scientific foundation that makes this approach unique.

Scherm_afbeelding 2024-08-20 om 12.11.46.png

You will receive lifetime access to the 2-week interval course focusing on the most effective exercise for concussions: interval training.

Learn how to use proven interval and breathing exercises to effectively reduce concussion symptoms. These methods help restore the autonomic nervous system (fight/flight response) and provide the brain with the neurotransmitters it needs to heal.

Developed by Dr. Mark Allen, Neuroscientist and Co-Founder of Cognitive FX, this unique approach combines interval training with specific breathing exercises, proven to reduce symptoms effectively.

21 videos / Available in video/text format

On average, it takes about two weeks to complete the course at a slow pace, including getting started. Prefer to start right away? Jump straight to the step-by-step guide. Once you've started, consistency is key.

  • What do I learn?
You'll learn everything about how to best implement interval training and which cognitive exercises are most beneficial for reducing your symptoms. Both specially designed for individuals with a concussion to achieve maximum results. You gain access to the extensive online environment where you'll learn everything about how to apply interval training and the 15 cognitive exercises. From how often and how long to do the intervals to step-by-step instructions on how to apply each cognitive exercise.
  • How quickly will I see results?
The frustrating answer is: every concussion is different. I wish I could give you a guarantee, but unfortunately, I can't predict the future. However, I can provide you with all the proven and researched information about the two methods that have resulted in rapid improvement for many. You'll need to take the steps yourself to achieve results. It's really about applying the knowledge I share with you. That being said, we know what we're doing: We've already helped over 500 concussion survivors in these courses to reduce their symptoms. We recommend these two methods because we fully stand behind them given the results achieved. 70% of them reported positive changes in symptoms within the first week or month. People who don't feel it immediately in the first month often experience a clear improvement after this time because recovery sometimes just needs a bit more time.
  • Why this price?
While I'd love to offer everything for free, creating and maintaining quality online training programs like these 2 Boost Courses demands significant time, effort, and resources. This is my work, and if I were to provide all of this (full-time job) for free, I'd have to find another job, which means waving goodbye to these courses. I spent 10k to acquire this knowledge and to make it more accessible for everyone I've poured my heart and soul into developing comprehensive courses that truly makes a difference for those navigating the challenges of concussion recovery. To ensure the courses remain updated and sustainable, there's a cost associated with accessing it. I collaborate closely with physiotherapists and concussion experts (whose expertise isn't free either) to ensure the knowledge inside this program is correct and up to date. Part of the investment goes there, another part goes back into continually improving the program, while the rest goes toward powering up our tech team and keeping the lights on. Your investment not only benefits you but also helps us keep this valuable community and resource alive and thriving.
  • I find it scary to invest money, is this the right investment?
Very understandable! Investing in yourself can be scary, especially if you've already tried many things that didn't seem to work. But if you don't invest, nothing will change in your approach, and you won't progress any faster than you are now. Because if you keep doing what you've been doing, you'll keep getting what you've been getting. Believe me, I've been there too. You'll have to take the leap to move forward at some point. The question is, will you do it now, or will you keep postponing it? Just because you're dealing with the symptoms doesn't mean you know what the right thing to do is. Healing from a concussion is a specialized field. It's likely not something you've been trained in yourself, and many doctors also don't know what to do about it. You could focus on 1000 general treatments, but who's to say they'll reduce your concussion symptoms? Often, these treatments only provide temporary relief, a slight improvement, or even do more harm than good. Rather than "just doing something" and overwhelming yourself with countless options that may not apply to your situation, let's prioritize focusing on doing the right thing: two proven and researched methods to achieve faster progress.
  • I've tried many things already, is this a good step?
It's great that you've already been working on reducing your symptoms! Often, many treatments are very general; they focus on many different conditions, and concussion is somewhere on the list, so they are not specialized in concussions. Also, many treatments have not been researched, so you're essentially just trying things out in the hope that they work. I don't support this approach because it often only costs money, energy, and time. These 2 Boost Courses are the only online resources where you receive this knowledge and support for this price that’s proven, researched, AND specifically focused on concussions. Are you curious about how these courses personally differs for you compared to previous experiences? Feel free to let me know, and I can take a look with you.
  • Why should I choose your program instead of sessions with a therapist?
This program is backed by research and specially designed for people with a concussion to get maximum results. Instead of doing multiple sessions with a physical therapist, you also need to do sessions with a cognitive therapist who specializes in concussions. This program saves you: Time from finding the right therapists who know what they are doing. Money because a single session may already cost more than $50. (Travel) stress, time and energy because you don’t have fixed appointments to travel to over and over again.
  • How can I adapt interval training if I can't exercise yet?
This was exactly the situation of someone who started the courses a few months ago and found it increasingly challenging to exercise. He started very slowly to ensure it went well and to make sure he felt confident doing the intervals. Often, we tend to push ourselves too hard or not do the right things, causing the body to become more imbalanced. If you make sure to build up gently and get the right push (don't worry; you'll learn that in the courses), progress is definitely possible. The strange thing is, what I see a lot and what my experience was too, normal exercise didn't work, but the intervals (building up slowly) did work. The sessions doesn't have to be long, sometimes 10 minutes, or even less can make a huge difference. Interval training is about increasing your heart rate, and you can choose the exercise that works best for you. It could be swimming, cycling, using a cross-trainer, jumping on a trampoline or even brisk walking —whatever suits you. Some participants in wheelchairs have successfully completed interval training by using their arms.
  • In what format is the program available?
The program is available in video or text format (so you can choose what works best for you). You can also print it (and read the text) or listen to the videos (instead of watching) if screen time bothers you.
  • How much time does this program take?
On average, an interval and cognitive session together take 30 minutes each time (so 15 minutes each). We recommend starting with interval training first, and once you've mastered that, you can start with cognitive training. You should do a session at least 2 and up to 5 times per week for the best results. Within the online environment, you can choose to watch all the videos, which takes about 2 hours. Or you can skip this and go straight to the step-by-step guide to start immediately. You don't have to watch all videos to start.
  • When can I start?
You can start right away after purchasing the program. The courses are available on demand, so you have lifetime access and can follow everything at your own pace.
  • Screens are hard for me to handle. What is your advice?
I totally get it. I had a hard time handling screens as well. That's why I tried to make your recovery easier. Instead of searching for information yourself, I did this for you. I offer all the knowledge you need to know about cognitive exercises and interval training into these courses. I did my best to make them simple and easy to watch. You can listen to most of them or read/print the text. Don't want to watch any videos? That's possible too. For the interval course, there is a 2-page step-by-step guide that you can print and start right away. For the cognitive course, there is also a step-by-step guide that you can print. In this guide, you'll find all 15 cognitive exercises. These exercises aren't computer-based; we use everyday objects like post-it notes, balls, and playing cards, along with printable PDF sheets and audio recordings.
  • What about the research?
Dr. Mark Allen researched specific interval training and cognitive exercises. He is a Neuroscientist and Co-Founder of Cognitive FX (the concussion clinic I went to where I learned everything about these two things). He developed the scientific foundation for concussion survivors that makes this approach unique. I had various calls with him, and he went through this program to make sure all information is correct. It’s a strategy that delivers proven results and not only provides temporary relief but truly works long-term as well. Thousands of other concussion survivors have implemented interval and cognitive training and were able to reduce their symptoms.
  • Do I need to keep doing these exercises for the rest of my life?
No, only if you find it beneficial. The goal is to reset your brain, and this requires a push at the beginning. It's important to consistently apply the exercises initially so your body can eventually take over, making the exercises unnecessary over time. You'll often sense when you're ready to start reducing the exercises. If you need help or want to discuss when the right time to scale back is, feel free to reach out.
  • Do you give medical advice?
I don’t give medical advice, everything is based on what I learned from concussion experts (research from Dr. Mark Allen), experiences with other people who followed these exact steps, and my own experience. By remaining in this course, you are accepting that you have read, understood, and agreed to my disclaimer.
  • I didn't sustain a concussion but have another TBI. Can this program be helpful for me too?
As many symptoms are similar the program can also be helpful for people dealing with a stroke, carbon monoxide poisoning, long COVID, or any other traumatic brain injury. If you’re doubting or want to discuss if this works for you, feel free to send me an email at info@theconcussioncommunity.com so I can think along with you.
  • Do I need to buy anything else to start the program?
There are a few things that will help to do the exercises but are all optional. Most of the time we just work with tools we have in our house, so you don’t have to make extra costs. For the interval training, a heart rate monitor can be helpful and a stopwatch. But both are optional if you don’t have the money to purchase one. And for the cognitive course, you need some post-its, a tennis ball or any other thing you can toss and a deck of playing cards. And it might be a good idea to work with a balance board as well for the multitask and balance exercises, but this can also work when you stand on one leg, for example. So not that much is needed to start.
  • Can I get a refund if this doesn't work for me?
The program lasts at least 7 weeks, and you need to give it a minimum of 1-2 months to see results; it doesn’t work in just one day. Since you also get instant access to all the program materials, we can't offer refunds. We're confident in our program, and over 600 people have already started it with great results. While we can't promise exact results since everyone's different, know that our program is based on methods that have helped many others reduce their symptoms.
  • What is the difference between your two offerings (The Concussion Community and The Concussion Boost Program)?
The Concussion Boost Program is designed to teach you how to implement interval and cognitive training in the most beneficial way for people with a concussion. Both methods have been researched by a neuroscientist and proven effective by thousands of other survivors. These courses contain specific content not included in The Concussion Community. The Concussion Community, on the other hand, is a supportive environment where members can share their experiences, ask questions, and offer each other encouragement. It’s a great resource for ongoing support and connection with others who understand what you’re going through. You can also gain more knowledge from 84 concussion experts through various classes and courses.
  • Can I start this program if I have exercise intolerance?
Yes, you can start the program, but it’s important to approach interval training with caution. For those with exercise intolerance, we recommend starting gently with brisk walking and avoiding intense exercise initially. Focus on following the minimum recommendations rather than pushing for the maximum. Once you are comfortable with this initial stage, you can gradually increase the intensity. Taking smaller steps and maintaining a consistent level for longer periods is crucial. You’ll find additional guidance on managing exercise intolerance from Dr. Jessica Klain in the course. Combining interval training with cognitive exercises can be highly effective for managing exercise intolerance. Many participants who have dealt with exercise intolerance have achieved great results with this approach. Here’s how cognitive exercises can help, based on expert advice: Neuroplasticity: Cognitive exercises promote neuroplasticity, helping the brain reorganize and form new neural connections. This supports concussion recovery and can enhance physical recovery and exercise tolerance. Reduced Fatigue: Cognitive exercises address cognitive fatigue often associated with concussion recovery. Improving cognitive endurance can help manage overall fatigue, which can indirectly improve exercise tolerance. Enhanced Cognitive Control: Improving functions such as attention, memory, and executive functioning helps in managing exercise routines. Better cognitive control aids in pacing and recognizing when to rest, which is crucial for those with exercise intolerance. Stress Management: Cognitive exercises can reduce stress, which may worsen exercise intolerance symptoms. Managing stress through cognitive activities can make physical exercise more manageable and beneficial.

Frequently Asked Questions
