welcome

If you feel like this, you're at the right place.

That's also proven by thousands of other concussion survivors.

Rather than "just doing something" and overwhelming yourself with countless options that may not apply to your situation, let's prioritize focusing on doing the right thing: two proven and researched methods to achieve faster progress.

That's what we are going to do within the Concussion Boost Program.

You want concrete, detailed guidance tailored to concussions and backed by research with long-lasting results.

There is a lot of different advice...

Your doctor: Please go home and rest as much as possible, as within a few weeks, you will be better.

Scherm_afbeelding 2023-12-01 om 13.52.31.png
Scherm_afbeelding 2023-12-01 om 13.52.31.png

Your family/friends:"I knew someone with a concussion, and because of "this," he was healed within 4 weeks."

Your psychologist: "It's important not to make your concussion the main thing in life, focus on positive things."

Your colleagues:"I wish I had a day off, too. Enjoy the sun and do some yoga; that will help to feel better"

Your physiotherapist: "This was our last session. I think it's important to focus on acceptance from now on."

The insurance company: "You can't prove it? Then it's not there. We are all getting older, try not to make that a big deal."

I can imagine that at some point, you struggle with what you should actually do.

And that's often where things go wrong: incorrect advice is followed, lacking grounded guidance from real concussion experts. This can result in not achieving the desired outcome or, even worse, making you feel worse.

That's why..

In the Concussion Boost Program, we focus on 2 proven and researched methods tailored to concussions so you know exactly what you should do to reduce your symptoms

Amy no longer enjoyed her life, she was just surviving...

I understand that sometimes you might think, 'Well, Amy can move forward, but I'll never be able to. My symptoms are more severe and different."

At least that's what Amy (and I too) often thought.

That's why I want to share Amy's story with you.

Amy struggled with the most 'normal' things and tasks:

Having conversations, going to the supermarket, making phone calls, driving, controlling her emotions, returning to work, performing more than one task per day, and on top of that, she suffered from daily headaches, fatigue, and migraines.

In short, Amy no longer enjoyed her life; she was just surviving.

After trying almost all the treatments she could think of, she felt discouraged.

Doctors told her she had to accept her situation and learn to cope with it.

Scherm_afbeelding 2024-04-16 om 13.29.08.png

She realized that as long as we don't know everything about our brain, it's also not a fact that I can't progress anymore. The chance that I can progress is just as great. She chose to believe the latter.

So she decided to join The Concussion Boost Program.

In the three months, she went from being someone who was always at home, to someone who enjoys her social life again.

She no longer has daily headaches and she has just started driving again. She now wakes up every day with a clear head instead of brainfog.

Now you might be wondering what Amy did to make such progress?

Amy started applying specific interval training and cognitive training. Which you will learn in my Concussion Boost Program.

The 2 researched methods we focus on in The Concussion Boost Program

Method 1: Interval training + breathing exercises

Watch the 5-minute video to learn why this specific interval training is so effective for people with a concussion. Prefer to read? Scroll down!

Why is this interval training so effective for concussion recovery?

Interval training, particularly tailored for concussions, is the most effective exercise method. It involves short bursts of intense activity followed by recovery periods. Unlike standard interval training, this approach is specifically developed to address concussion symptoms.

Some exercises may trigger nausea, dizziness, headaches, or fatigue, indicating they may not be suitable for you at this stage.

The result? You're either not engaging in any physical activity or doing wrong exercises that worsen your condition. This often happens after following incorrect advice from individuals lacking sufficient knowledge about concussions.

In this program, we focus on interval training combined with specialized breathing exercises, proven to effectively alleviate concussion symptoms. Credit to Dr. Mark Allen, Neuroscientist and Co-Founder of Cognitive FX, for developing this unique approach.

Scherm_afbeelding 2023-11-07 om 09.32.23.png

2 reasons why interval training is more effective than a normal exercise:

1. Interval training provides a rapid boost of essential neurotransmitters, proteins, and oxygen in the brain. Of particular importance for concussion recovery is Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF), crucial for stimulating neuroplasticity. Interval training optimizes BDNF levels most efficiently, promoting brain healing.

2. It regulates the autonomic nervous system. Balancing the sympathetic (fight-flight) and parasympathetic (rest and digest) systems.

After a concussion, the sympathetic nervous system often overreacts, leading to imbalance.

Interval training, combined with specific breathing exercises, encourages activation of the parasympathetic system, restoring balance.

Schermafbeelding 2023-12-01 om 15.20.18.png

Method 2: Fifteen cognitive exercises

Watch the 3-minute video to learn why these cognitive exercises are so effective for people with a concussion. Prefer to read? Scroll down!

Why are these cognitive exercises effective for concussions?

During the first few days of concussion recovery, inflammation can prevent your brain from using certain communication pathways the way it normally would.

While these pathways typically resume normal function after a week or two, people with post-concussion syndrome experience persistent symptoms due to continued brain activity around damaged areas. This drains energy and prolongs recovery.

The 15 researched and proven cognitive exercises aim to restore and strengthen these pathways, reducing symptoms and improving overall brain function.

It's important to focus on exercises that target all areas of your brain, focusing on the pathways that are damaged after a concussion.

About me

Compressed.jpg

Hi! I am Silvie, 32 years old and in May 2017, I had a scooter accident, which caused me whiplash and concussion. That day, I went home after the accident, not knowing I’d just walked into a new life.

"I was constantly torn between "I can't let this concussion ruin my life" and "I have to listen to my body and rest".

I struggled for years to find the right help and understand what was going on with me. The regular doctors I visited couldn't address my symptoms.

In all those years I was Googling to find experts who could help me. I was missing the correct knowledge to move forward.

After years of struggle, I am back to feeling my old self again...

In June 2019, I spent $10k on a treatment; I went to Cognitive FX

A concussion center in Utah, where I learned everything about interval training and cognitive exercises.

This helped me overcome my concussion symptoms, and now I'm helping others to achieve the same without spending $10k.

Scherm_afbeelding 2023-11-02 om 12.50.10.png

Because simply engaging in 'some' cardio exercises or doing ‘some’ puzzles won't bring about a massive change.

More is needed if you truly want to overcome your symptoms.

That's why I invested $10k in a comprehensive treatment that brought significant results. As a result, I launched this 3-month program to guide you through intervals and cognitive exercises in the most beneficial way to reduce your concussion symptoms.

PS: I want to credit Dr. Mark Allen, Neuroscientist and Co-Founder of Cognitive FX, who developed the scientific foundation that makes this approach unique.

21 videos + 2 hours bonus materials to calm down
Available online in video/text format or step-by-step guide.

  • What do I learn? What do I get help with?
You'll learn everything about how to best implement interval training and which cognitive exercises are most beneficial for reducing your symptoms. We assist you from A to Z by implementing these two researched methods, both specially designed for individuals with a concussion to achieve maximum results. Because every person is different, we offer (group and 1:1) guidance to apply them in the most efficient manner based on your situation/level. You can always reach out to me if you encounter any difficulties, and you also gain access to the extensive online environment where you'll learn everything about how to apply interval training and the 15 cognitive exercises. From how often and how long to do the intervals to step-by-step instructions on how to apply each cognitive exercise.
  • How quickly will I see results?
The frustrating answer is: every concussion is different. I wish I could give you a guarantee, but unfortunately, I can't predict the future. However, I can provide you with all the proven and researched information about the two methods that have resulted in rapid improvement for many. I'll guide you in the WhatsApp group (or 1:1 via direct messages) to ensure quick results, but of course, you'll need to take the steps yourself to achieve results. It's really about applying the knowledge I share with you. That being said, we know what we're doing: We've already guided over 500 concussion survivors in this program to reduce their symptoms. We recommend these two methods because we fully stand behind them given the results achieved. 70% of them reported positive changes in symptoms within the first week or month. People who don't feel it immediately in the first month often experience a clear improvement after this time because recovery sometimes just needs a bit more time.
  • What kind of guidance is included in this program?
This is the most personal program I offer. I don't believe in DIY coaching for this program because the right guidance can make all the difference. Sometimes it's difficult to determine whether you should push yourself or take a break. We help you find the right balance so you don't exceed your limits but still make progress. In this program, you'll have access to the private WhatsApp group, which is for everyone who has started this program. Additionally, you can also send me a direct message if you prefer. Would you like me to review your schedule? Or are you unsure whether you should take a break or push through? We will ensure that you're 100% confident in performing the exercises correctly for the best results. I will respond within 48 hours on weekdays, consulting with a concussion expert if necessary. We value being personal and involved, so we can best assist you moving forward.
  • I find it scary to invest money, is this the right investment?
Very understandable! Investing in yourself can be scary, especially if you've already tried many things that didn't seem to work. But if you don't invest, nothing will change in your approach, and you won't progress any faster than you are now. Because if you keep doing what you've been doing, you'll keep getting what you've been getting. You'll have to take the leap to move forward at some point. The question is, will you do it now, or will you keep postponing it? Just because you're dealing with the symptoms doesn't mean you know what the right thing to do is. Healing from a concussion is a specialized field. It's likely not something you've been trained in yourself, and many doctors also don't know what to do about it. You could focus on 1000 general treatments, but who's to say they'll reduce your concussion symptoms? Often, these treatments only provide temporary relief, a slight improvement, or even do more harm than good. Rather than "just doing something" and overwhelming yourself with countless options that may not apply to your situation, let's prioritize focusing on doing the right thing: two proven and researched methods to achieve faster progress. And we'll teach you how to implement them.
  • I've tried many things already, is this a good step?
It's great that you've already been working on reducing your symptoms! Often, many treatments are very general; they focus on many different conditions, and concussion is somewhere on the list, so they are not specialized in concussions. Also, many treatments have not been researched, so you're essentially just trying things out in the hope that they work. I don't support this approach because it often only costs money, energy, and time. The Concussion Boost Program is the only online program where you receive this knowledge and support for this price that’s proven, researched, AND specifically focused on concussions. Are you curious about how this program personally differs for you compared to previous experiences? Feel free to let me know, and I can take a look with you.
  • Why should I choose your program instead of sessions with a therapist?
This program is backed by research and specially designed for people with a concussion to get maximum results. Instead of doing multiple sessions with a physical therapist, you also need to do sessions with a cognitive therapist who specializes in concussions. This program saves you: Time from finding the right therapists who know what they are doing. Money because a single session may already cost more than $50. (Travel) stress, time and energy because you don’t have fixed appointments to travel to over and over again.
  • How can I adapt interval training if I can't exercise yet?
This was exactly the situation of someone who started the program a few months ago and found it increasingly challenging to exercise. We started very slowly to ensure it went well and to make sure he felt confident doing the intervals. Often, we tend to push ourselves too hard or not do the right things, causing the body to become more imbalanced. If you make sure to get exactly the right push (don't worry; I'll assist with that), progress is definitely possible. The strange thing is, what I see a lot and what my experience was too, normal exercise didn't work, but the intervals (building up slowly) did work. The sessions doesn't have to be long, sometimes 10 minutes, or even less can make a huge difference. Don't worry; I won't tell you to push yourself beyond your limits. Interval training is about increasing your heart rate, and you can choose the exercise that works best for you. It could be swimming, cycling, using a cross-trainer, jumping on a trampoline or even brisk walking —whatever suits you. Some participants in wheelchairs have successfully completed interval training by using their arms. We will find an exercise that works for you.
  • In what format is the program available?
The program is available in video or text format (so you can choose what works best for you). You can also print it (and read the text) or listen to the videos (instead of watching) if screen time bothers you.
  • How much time does this program take?
On average, an interval and cognitive session together take 30 minutes each time (so 15 minutes each). We recommend starting with interval training first, and once you've mastered that, you can start with cognitive training. You should do a session at least 2 and up to 5 times per week for the best results. We will help you find the right frequency so you can achieve optimal results. Within the online program, you can choose to watch all the videos, which takes about 3 hours. Or you can skip this and go straight to the step-by-step guide to start immediately. You don't have to watch all videos to start.
  • From when do the 3 months start?
The 3-month period starts from the moment you decide to join the WhatsApp group. This can be a month after purchasing the program (or later, this is up to you). These 3 months are consecutive. After this period, you'll likely have a good understanding of how to continue on your own. If you have any questions afterward, feel free to email me anytime. (You have lifetime access to the courses)
  • Screens are hard for me to handle. What is your advice?
I totally get it. I had a hard time handling screens as well. That's why I tried to make your recovery easier. Instead of searching for information yourself, I did this for you. I offer all the knowledge you need to know about cognitive exercises and interval training into these courses. I did my best to make them simple and easy to watch. You can listen to most of them or read/print the text.
  • Do you give medical advice?
I don’t give medical advice, everything is based on what I learned from concussion experts, experiences with other people who followed these exact steps, and my own experience. If you still have questions and I doubt answering your questions I will discuss it with a physical or cognitive therapist. By remaining in this course, you are accepting that you have read, understood, and agreed to my disclaimer.
  • I didn't sustain a concussion but have another TBI. Can this program be helpful for me too?
As many symptoms are similar this program can also be helpful for people dealing with a stroke, carbon monoxide poisoning, long COVID, or any other traumatic brain injury. If you’re doubting or want to discuss if this works for you, feel free to send me an email at info@theconcussioncommunity.com so I can think along with you.
  • Do I need to buy anything else to start this program?
There are a few things that will help to do the exercises but are all optional. Most of the time we just work with tools we have in our house, so you don’t have to make extra costs. For the interval training, a heart rate monitor can be helpful and a stopwatch. But both are optional if you don’t have the money to purchase one. And for the cognitive course, you need some post-its, a tennis ball or any other thing you can toss and a deck of playing cards. And it might be a good idea to work with a balance board as well for the multitask and balance exercises, but this can also work when you stand on one leg, for example. So not that much is needed to start.
  • I have another question...
Can't find your question listed? Send me a message at info@theconcussioncommunity.com! I am here to help.

Frequently Asked Questions
