2022.08.13 - Brandinshoot Silvie - Schoo

You are a concussion survivor and want to do everything to get better.

You have already tried things to reduce your symptoms.

But now you notice... It's not progressing as quickly as expected. In fact, you had hoped to be much further in your recovery by now.

You know that much more is possible; you just hit a roadblock on how to best achieve it.

For example, you notice that...

Scherm_afbeelding 2023-12-01 om 13.51.58.png
Scherm_afbeelding 2023-12-01 om 16.06.38.png

✔️ Most doctors can't help. They don't believe you, you're getting misdiagnosed, sending you home to rest, or prescribing medicines that do more harm than good.

Scherm_afbeelding 2023-12-01 om 16.10.27.png
Scherm_afbeelding 2023-12-01 om 16.18.58.png

✔️ You lose yourself on the internet in the information that actually does not apply to your situation. You want to stop "just doing something", but take control of your recovery with the right tools and knowledge.

✔️ You're getting so overwhelmed by all the different possibilities out there that you don't start or try anything at all.

✔️ You're done with the ups and downs that come with concussion recovery. Sometimes, you feel on top of the world and the next day, out of the blue, you're totally off, and you have no idea why. You're ready for a balance between doing things and rest.

Scherm_afbeelding 2023-12-01 om 16.24.22.png

✔️ You first wanted to move forward by yourself, but you notice that you still miss the correct knowledge to do so. You want to be able to rely on your body in every situation, enjoy the process of healing and gain more control over it.

If you feel like this, you're at the right place.

welcome

So far you've figured out a lot on your own.

But you feel like you are just doing something.

You want to take the next step and reduce your symptoms quickly.

Knowing what really works and HOW it can be done.

You no longer want to focus on general treatments that fit many common complaints.

No, you want to focus on a proven method specifically developed for people with a concussion.

You don't want to meet 20 doctors again before someone truly understands how you feel and, more importantly, knows what you can do to feel better. Which means you still have to figure it all out yourself.

You also don't want to work with people who promise certain tricks or magic pills, which give a lot of hope but ultimately only cost energy, money, or setbacks.

You want to take action. You know that reducing concussion symptoms doesn't just magically come to you, but now you want to know HOW you can do this.

Many concussion survivors continue to struggle for years without having any idea what they are doing.

The thing is: often, this doesn't help them to move forward.

You want concrete, detailed advice based on your situation.

Focus on doing the right thing, a proven method, instead of just doing something.

That's what we are going to do within the Concussion Boost Program.

I believe that everyone can improve their symptoms.

Let's go from "just doing something"....

Scherm_afbeelding 2023-12-01 om 13.52.31.png

Your doctor

"Please go home and rest as much as possible, as within a few weeks, you will be better."

"I knew someone with a concussion, and because of "this," he was healed within 4 weeks."

Your family/friends

Your psychologist

"It's really important not to make your concussion the main thing in life, focus on positive things."

Your colleagues

"I wish I had a day off, too. Enjoy the sun and do some yoga; that will help to feel better"

"This was our last session. I think it's important to focus on acceptance from now on."

Your physiotherapist

The insurance company

"You can't prove it? Then it's not there. We are all getting older, try not to make that a big deal."

Let me tell you what 2 proven & researched methods we focus on in this program

1. Repair damaged pathways - Specific cognitive exercises

Watch the 3-minute video to learn why these cognitive exercises are so effective for people with a concussion. Prefer to read? Scroll down!

Why are these specific cognitive exercises so effective for people with a concussion?

To understand why cognitive exercises are helpful for post-concussion survivors, you first have to understand what’s causing the symptoms in the first place.

A concussion can be caused by a direct blow to the head or whiplash. When the brain hits the skull, the head trauma can result in swelling and inflammation.

During the first few days of recovery, that inflammation can prevent your brain from using certain communication pathways the way it normally would.

For most people, those pathways resume working as normal after a week or two. But for people with post-concussion symptoms, the brain gets so used to moving around areas affected by the head injury that it keeps doing so even after recovery.

That means your brain is sending blood flow and information around the damaged areas. That drains energy and takes longer, resulting in persistent symptoms.

Restoring these damaged pathways is possible, but your brain needs the right push to recover; that's where the 15 (researched and proven) cognitive exercises come in.

We want to go from this left half with weaknesses or detours to a well-functioning brain, the right half (see photo). So, we create new pathways and strengthen them. When this happens, numerous symptoms can decrease.

It's important to focus on exercises that target all areas of your brain, focusing on the pathways that are damaged after a concussion.

2.  Specific interval training + Special breathing exercises

Watch the 5-minute video to learn why this specific interval training is so effective for people with a concussion. Prefer to read? Scroll down!

Why is this specific interval training so effective for people with a concussion?

Interval training is the most effective exercise for people with a concussion. Intervals are short bursts of intense exercise alternated with recovery periods. I am not talking about NORMAL interval training but one that’s specially developed for people with a concussion.

You may experience that certain types of exercise make you feel nauseous, dizzy, you get headaches, feel fatigued, etc.

This could mean some treatments/things you're doing at this moment might not be suitable for you at this stage.

The result? You're either not engaging in any physical activity or doing wrong exercises that worsen your condition. This often happens after following incorrect advice from individuals lacking sufficient knowledge about concussions.

In this program, we focus on a specific type of exercise specifically designed and proven to effectively reduce symptoms for people with a concussion: interval training combined with specific breathing exercises. (Credit goes to Dr. Mark Allen, Neuroscientist and Co-Founder of Cognitive FX; he developed this unique approach).

Two reasons why it's more effective for a concussion than a normal workout:

1. Every time you do interval training, you get a boost of neurotransmitters, proteins, and oxygen in the brain.

All those are helpful but the most helpful neurochemical for people with a concussion is the: Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF). Interval training is by far the fastest and most efficient way to maximize a BDNF boost.

2. It will balance the autonomic nervous system. After sustaining a concussion, the "fight-flight system" and the "rest and digest" system are out of balance.

Intervals and the breathing exercises will help the rest system to become more active.

Schermafbeelding 2023-12-01 om 15.20.18.png

This specific interval training + cognitive exercises can help you to reduce numerous symptoms

✔️ Getting out of fight-flight mode

✔️ Better mood/positive

✔️ Control nervous system

✔️ Reduced anxiety

✔️ Ability to return to exercise

✔️ Feeling less overwhelmed

Based on the outcome of 500+ concussion survivors:

✔️ Reduced fatigue

✔️ Reduced headaches

✔️ Improved sleep

✔️ More energy

✔️ Less noise sensitivity
✔️ Improved vision

About me

Compressed.jpg

Hi! I am Silvie, 32 years old and in May 2017, I had a scooter accident, which caused me whiplash and concussion. That day, I went home after the accident, not knowing I’d just walked into a new life.

"I was constantly torn between "I can't let this concussion ruin my life" and "I have to listen to my body and rest".

I struggled for years to find the right help and understand what was going on with me. The regular doctors I visited couldn't address my symptoms.

In all those years I was Googling to find experts who could help me. I was missing the correct knowledge to move forward.

After years of struggle, I am back to feeling my old self again...

In June 2019, I spent $10k on a treatment; I went to Cognitive FX

A concussion center in Utah, where I learned everything about interval training and cognitive exercises.

This helped me overcome my concussion symptoms, and now I'm helping others to achieve the same without spending $10k.

Scherm_afbeelding 2023-11-02 om 12.50.10.png

Because simply engaging in 'some' cardio exercises or doing ‘some’ puzzles won't bring about a massive change.

More is needed if you truly want to overcome your symptoms.

That's why I invested $10k in a comprehensive treatment that brought significant results. As a result, I launched this 3-month program to guide you through intervals and cognitive exercises in the most beneficial way to reduce your concussion symptoms.

PS: I want to credit Dr. Mark Allen, Neuroscientist and Co-Founder of Cognitive FX, who developed the scientific foundation that makes this approach unique.

Let's go!

In my program, I literally share with you everything about interval training and cognitive exercises, which were my 2 game-changers (and the game-changers for many others!).

I believe, based on my own experience and what I see happening to people who bought my courses, interval training and cognitive exercises are the magic combination to reduce concussion symptoms.

Simply engaging in 'some' cardio exercises or doing ‘some’ puzzles won't bring about a massive change. More is simply needed if you truly want to overcome your symptoms.

After the purchase, you can start immediately. You get instant access to all modules and the private WhatsApp group.

Start from your safe space at home and start noticing an improvement in symptoms within the first weeks/months as well.

Scherm_afbeelding 2024-01-31 om 12.09.39.png

What will change in your current situation if you choose not to do this now?

"Just doing something" mostly results in wasting time, money, and energy.

This program and the exercises within it are truly based on research specifically related to concussions, and hundreds of people have already achieved positive results with it.

Plannnn
Scherm_afbeelding 2023-12-01 om 15.46.14.png

So far, 500+ people have started the interval/cognitive course, and 70% of them reported positive changes in symptoms within the first week or months. People who don't feel it immediately in the first weeks often experience a clear improvement after this time because recovery sometimes just needs a bit more time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I choose your courses instead of sessions with a physical and cognitive therapist?

My courses are a combination of interval training and cognitive training, specially designed for people with a concussion to get maximum results. Instead of doing multiple sessions with a physical therapist, you also need to do sessions with a cognitive therapist who specializes in concussions.

This program saves you:

  • time from finding the right therapists who know what they are doing

  • money because a single session may already cost more than $50

  • (travel) stress, time and energy because you don’t have fixed appointments to travel to over and over again

I am worried if I can do the interval training: I can't run, for example...
Don't worry; you don't need to run if this is hard for you. It's all about increasing your heart rate. You can choose what exercise works best for you. For example, this can be swimming, cycling, using a cross-trainer, jumping on a trampoline—whatever suits you. Even people who were in a wheelchair managed to do the interval training (using their arms). So don't worry; we will find an exercise that works for you.

How much time will I spend following this program?
In the program, I explain as briefly and clearly as possible how everything works. The guideline is about 30 minutes per day, 15 minutes of interval training and 15 minutes of cognitive training. How many days per week you do this depends on your personal situation (do you have a lot of other obligations?) and preference (how does your body respond to it?). Some people do it twice a week, others five times a week. I can certainly help with this to find the right balance for you.

In what format are your courses available? Can I print everything?
Both courses are online courses and available in video or text format (so you can choose what works best for you). You can also print the course (and read the text) if screen time bothers you. There is a PDF format available on the first page of the courses. Exception: Week one of the interval course (Dr. Jessica's part) is only available in video format (not in text format). But don't worry, you can listen to the video instead of watching it. Also, the bonus modules to relax (meditation/yoga) can't be printed.

What are the outcomes for other people who have started?

So far, 500+ people have started the interval/cognitive course, and 70% of them reported positive changes in symptoms within the first week or months. People who don't feel it immediately in the first weeks often experience a clear improvement after this time because recovery sometimes just needs a bit more time.

From when does the 3-month access to WhatsApp start? Can I also purchase the program and later join the group?

Yes. Yes. The 3-month period starts from the moment you decide to join the WhatsApp group. This can be a month after purchasing the program (or later, this is up to you). These 3 months are consecutive. After this period, you'll likely have a good understanding of how to continue on your own. If you have any questions afterward, feel free to email me anytime. (You have lifetime access to the courses)

What if I have any questions or need more support?
That's why I've included extra support in this program. You receive three months of access to the private WhatsApp group. Within this group, you can ask all your questions and I will respond within 48 hours during weekdays (if needed, I will discuss with a concussion expert) and connect with other people who have started the intervals and cognitive exercises. I will check in with you regularly and motivate you in this group. You don't have to do it alone.

I don't have time or energy for this...What to do?

How much time and energy do you save if you can stop running from appointment to appointment? Not being sent by your doctor from pillar to post? Or what if you don't need to spend your time planning your day anymore? What if you can live a more spontaneous life? What if you don't need your daily nap anymore because you could improve your sleep? Won’t this all save you time and energy?

I don't have the money at this moment..

During my journey, I always felt financial stress; sometimes, I even felt that this was holding me back from recovery. How much money have you already spent on doctors, treatments, tools...? What if you go to your doctor, psychologist or another therapist every week and pay $55? What if you don't need that anymore after starting this program? And what if you can make the first steps back to work? How much money will come your way because that? Wouldn't this all be a reason to try it? You have so much more to gain than to lose right?

Screens are hard for me to handle. What is your advice?

I totally get it. I had a hard time handling screens as well. That's why I tried to make your recovery easier. Instead of searching for information yourself, I did this for you. I offer all the knowledge you need to know about cognitive exercises and interval training into these courses. I did my best to make them simple and easy to watch. You can listen to most of them or read/print the text (see answer above).

Can I watch the videos from the courses over and over again?
Yes, all videos from the interval and cognitive courses are recorded, so you can watch them at your own pace. You get lifetime access so you don't need to hurry.

When can I start the program?
After the purchase, you get an email with unlimited access to the program and 3 months of access to the private Whatsapp Group. So you can start right away.

For who is this program?

For concussion (TBI) survivors who:

- Feel stuck and feel they are not getting the correct knowledge or recognition from their doctor(s).
- Can’t exercise and have already tried multiple ways of exercising but don't feel the benefits.

- Have been busy searching for a while to find more information about how to heal their concussion but still do not feel they are moving forward.

- Have an open mindset, believe in new changes and opportunities.

- Feels there is more out there, that this isn't it.

What do I learn in this 3-month program?

In this program, you will learn the exact steps you need to take to reduce your symptoms, allowing you to regain control of your life. These are the exact steps I took to reduce my symptoms by 50% within 3 months and ultimately to 90%. Together, we will work step by step to apply intervals and cognitive exercises specially designed for people with a concussion to reduce symptoms quickly.

No need to worry about feeling overwhelmed. You will receive lifetime access to the 2 courses and 3 months of access to the private WhatsApp Group. So, we will truly work together to ensure that you can return to exercise as soon as possible and start noticing the initial improvements.

Do you give medical advice?

I don’t give medical advice, everything is based on what I learned from concussion experts, experiences with other people who followed these exact steps, and my own experience. If you still have questions and I doubt answering your questions I will discuss it with a physical or cognitive therapist.
By remaining in this course, you are accepting that you have read, understood, and agreed to my disclaimer

What do I need to start with the interval course?

In order to do the interval training, it would be great if you arrange the following things:
- Your gym outfit
- Your motivation ;)

- Optional: a heart rate monitor. I have this one: click here.
- Optional: a stopwatch (which is on your phone)

What do I need to start with the cognitive exercise course?

There are a few things you need to do all exercises:

- Post-its

- A tennis ball (or any other ball)

- A balance board (optional, we can also do the exercise by standing on one leg). I have this one: Click here
- A deck of playing cards

Will I have lifetime access to everything?
You will have lifetime access to my two courses: the 5-week cognitive exercise course and the 2-week interval course. Additionally, you will receive three months of access to the private WhatsApp group.

What happens after 3 months of access to the private WhatsApp group?

After three months, your access to the private group ends automatically. Do you need more support? One week before it ends, you will receive an email, and you can decide to join The Concussion Community (you can also join The Concussion Community right away; there's no need to finish the program first). You can keep access to the community for as long as you like at $39/month (cancel anytime) or $87 every 3 months.

I didn't sustain a concussion but have another TBI. Can this program be helpful for me too?
As many symptoms are similar this program can also be helpful for people dealing with a stroke, carbon monoxide poisoning, long COVID, or any other traumatic brain injury.

What does your courses get me?

After following the program, you will know how to do the interval training and the cognitive exercises and will notice your first improvements. You'll be done with struggling and trying to find out everything by yourself. You’ll finally feel you're on the right path toward healing and confident and hopeful about the future.
